MANES Research Center
MANES is an inter-university research center focused on the historical study of school textbooks in Spain, Portugal and Latin America since the 19th century. Created in 1992, MANES has its main offices in the Education Faculty (Departamento de Historia de la Educación y Educación Comparada) of the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia – UNED – in Madrid.
This website provides information about the activities and publications of the MANES Research Center as well as about its extensive offering of sources and resources for research in the field. These include databases of school textbooks, virtual libraries and exhibitions, a vast bibliography and digitalized historical documents, among other sections.
